Bonnie Lou McGowan , 79, died Friday, Sept. 19, at her Shawnee home.
She was born May 17, 1924, in Konawa to Mitchel and Dora (Ritter) Snider.
On Nov. 2, 1945, she married Bobby L. McGowan . He preceded her in death.
McGowan was a longtime partner in the Grand Cafe. She attended Liberty Baptist Church and was active in the Shawnee Roundup Club for many years.
McGowan was also preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include her mother, Dora Snider of Shawnee; brother and sister-in-law, George and Pat Snider of Shawnee; sister and brother-in-law, Sue and Bill Herrin of Shawnee; son and daughter-in-law, Mac and Sue McGowan of Lee's Summit, Mo.; daughter, Bobbie Lawaun McGowan of Shawnee; daughter and son-in-law, Sonya and Eric Wilburn of Marshall, Texas; six grandchildren, Sean McGowan , Stephanie Heitmeier, Aaron McGowan , Kirsten Basore, Heather Wilburn and Joshua Wilburn; five great-grandchildren and many other relatives.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Matthews and the Rev. Phil Thompson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Walker Funeral Service. Family will receive visitors 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The casket will be open at the funeral home until 1:15 p.m. Tuesday and will not be opened at the cemetery.
